Tornados surprise Brevard Middle School with free tennis instruction

Brevard, N.C. - The Brevard College men’s and women’s tennis teams gave the Brevard Middle School tennis team a surprise visit on Friday, September 7th, at the BC Tennis Complex, as the Tornados helped out the team, working with them on their tennis strokes and general game play.

Seniors Lindsay Shaeffer, Cole Altizer and Scott McCormick and junior Lindsay Hostetter were among the Tornados athletes’ who helped out and were impressed with the excitement of the young players toward the game. Each also commented they had a great time helping out and overall it was a great experience.

"This is a small way for our players to give back to the community," commented BC Athletic Director Kim Pate. "We are proud of our athletes and the tennis mentoring was a nice touch."

The Brevard College tennis teams will be in action this weekend at UNC Asheville for a tournament, starting on Friday, September 17th, and running until Sunday, September 19th.
