Rollins leads team with five blocks in loss to Tusculum

Morrison adds eight kills to lead Tornados in the match

Greeneville, Tenn. - Erin Rollins had a match-high five blocks and Ashlie Morrison added eight kills, but the Tornados were unable to overcome Tusculum in South Atlantic Conference action on Friday evening, falling to the Pioneers, 25-16, 25-21, 25-18.

The two teams participated in a Dig for the Cure match, with donations being taken for each dig received by both teams. All proceeds went toward the Susan Komen Foundation.

Rollins and Bethany Stevenson led Brevard (2-14, 0-10), hitting 40.0 percent apiece in the match, while Morrison led the team with eight kills. Jamie Atkinson added seven kills, three blocks and eight digs, while Rebecca Schoonover led the Tornados with 12 digs in the match.

Bailee Price led Tusculum (13-3, 9-1 SAC) on the evening with a match-high 10 kills, while Sam Underwood added eight kills as the Pioneers hit 26.2 percent for the match. Price completed the double-double in the match with 15 digs, while Ashley Sarmiento added a match-high 16 digs. Caitlyn Dean also had 13 digs to pace the Pioneers back line.

The Tornados continue on the road this weekend, traveling to Mars Hill, N.C. to take on SAC rival Mars Hill College on Saturday, October 9th. First serve between the Tornados and the Lions is set for 3 p.m. inside Stanford Arena.
