Reese named SAC Offensive Player of the Week
Quarterback records five rushing touchdowns in 41-24 victory over Tusculum
Rock Hill, S.C. - Brevard College senior quarterback Aaron Reese became the second BC offensive player to earn South Atlantic Conference Offensive Player of the Week laurels, after guiding the Tornados to the 41-24 victory over Tusculum on Saturday night.
Reese broke a Brevard College single game record with five rushing touchdowns as he led the Tornados to their first victory in the South Atlantic Conference this season as the Tornados defeated the Pioneers for the second time in three years, with both victories coming in the friendly confines of Brevard Memorial Stadium.
Reese carried the ball 19 times for a game high 153 rushing yards and five scores, carrying the ball in from 1, 1, 31, 15 and two yards as he scored the first four Brevard College touchdowns as the Tornados built a 27-10 lead, and then he clinched the game with his final score, giving Brevard the commanding 41-24 lead. Reese averaged 8.1 yards per carry and was not tackled behind the line of scrimmage in guiding the Tornados to the victory.
Reese also went 5-for-8 in the passing game throwing for 90 yards and connecting with three different receivers.
For the season, Reese leads the Tornados rushing game with 381 yards and six rushing touchdowns, while throwing for an additional 373 yards and six scores through the air.
Reese joins Derek Church (Offensive), Richard Ray (Defensive), Austin Clark (Special Teams) and Eric Watts (Special Teams) as Brevard football SAC Player of the Week recipients for the 2011 season.
