Tornados are one of 82 teams in the nation recognized for the award
Brevard, N.C. - The Brevard College women’s soccer team was recognized as one of the 82 National Soccer Coaches Association of America Ethics/Sportsmanship Award winners for the 2011 season.
The Tornados received the Silver version of the Team Ethics Award, which recognizes teams that exhibit fair play, sporting behavior and adherence to the Laws of the Game, as reflected by the number of yellow caution cards or red ejection cards they are shown by referees throughout the season.
Brevard is the lone team in the South Atlantic Conference to receive this distinction and one of two teams in the Southeast Region to receive the award. The Tornados received the Bronze award after the 2010 season.
