O'Dell, Robinson lead Tornados on ABCA/Rawlings Preseason All-Southeast Team
Duo recognized as Players to Watch in the 2012 season
Brevard, N.C. - Brevard College senior first baseman Randy O’Dell and senior transfer Tarron Robinson were recognized among the Players to Watch in the Southeast Region in the preseason ABCA/Rawlings All-Region team.
O’Dell was recognized as one of the Players to watch, while Robinson was highlighted as one of the Newcomers to watch as the Tornados begin their fourth season in the South Atlantic Conference.
O’Dell, a senior first baseman from Durham, N.C., was selected to the 2011 All-SAC Second Team, after a season in which he was among the SAC batting leaders with a .373 batting average. O’Dell led the Tornados with 53 hits on the season, 10 doubles, four home runs and 33 RBIs, as well as a .528 slugging percentage and had a fielding percentage of .986 in 335 chances.
Robinson makes his debut with Brevard this season after transferring from North Carolina, where he played first base and outfield under Coach Mike Fox. Robinson saw action in 46 games with the Tarheels and will be in the mix for playing time immediately with the Tornados on the diamond.
The Brevard College baseball team begins the 2012 season on the road as they travel to Due West, S.C. to take on Erskine College. First pitch of the season is on Tuesday, February 7th, at 2 p.m.
