BC Comes Up Short in AndersonSeptember 19, 2012
Anderson, S.C.- The Brevard College men's soccer team dropped a 3-0 contest to the Anderson University Trojans in South Atlantic Conference action on Wednesday evening.
Efren D. Escobar and Landon Reid both put shots on goal for Brevard, but the play of AU keeper Lukas Hesse kept the Tornados off the board.
The Tornados managed Anderson's offensive attack early to keep the game scoreless in for the first 54 minutes. Pauli Jussila recorded two saves in the first half, and a third before the Trojans found the back of the net early in the second half.
Ben Jones put the Trojans on top 1-0 at 54:09, working free and punching the ball in from 15 yards out. Anderson came out of the break with a charge on the offensive side of the ball, firing seven shots of their ten shots in the second half.
Lars Zimmerman scored from 20 yards out to make it 2-0 AU at the 67:04 mark in the second half. Zimmerman scored a second goal at 72:27, this time from 10 yards out on an assist from the right side by Daniel Colvin.
The Tornados are 1-1 SAC competition in 2012, and play their first home conference game of the season on Saturday, September 22nd against the Mars Hill Lions at 4:30 p.m.
