Bears Too Much For TornadosOctober 6, 2012
Brevard, N.C.- The Tornados men's soccer team lost 4-1 in conference action on the road against the Lenoir-Rhyne Bears on Saturday night.
The Tornados fired 11 shots on goal against LRU keeper Stefan Dill, but only Marcelo Betcer was able to find the back of the net in the defeat. Betcer scored on a free kick at 71:37.
Lenoir-Rhyne took the lead at 7:40 when Marios Pinos Garcia scored his fourth goal of the year following a throw-in. The Bears struck twice more in the first half, with Rafaelle Di Purto scoring on a penalty kick just at 30:29 just before Tobias Tobrant scored an unassisted goal at 31:35.
Santiago Asprilla scored the final goal for LRU on a cross into the box from Di Purto at 46:28 in the second half.
BC returns to the pitch on Wednesday October 10th as they host the Carson-Newman Eagles at 4 p.m.
