Yeomans Ties BC Digs Mark in Loss to Trojans

Anderson, S.C.- Sydney Yeomans tied the BC record for digs in a three-set match with 24 in a loss to the Anderson Trojans on Friday night, with the Tornados falling 25-16, 27-25, 25-15.

Yeomans tied Brittany Holliday's mark of 24 digs in a three-set match from October 19, 2007 at Carson-Newman.

The Tornados played Anderson extremely tough in the second set, using a late 6-0 run to take a 25-24 lead.  However, Anderson's Victoria Wehrmann delivered a kill to tie the game at 25-25. Two BC attack errors clinched the win for AU, and returned the momentum back in favor of the Trojans.

Anderson sophomore Hailey Pittman delivered a team-high 11 kills at a .260 hitting percentage to help bring the Trojans to 3-7 in SAC play this season.

Kortney Conner recorded a match-high 14 kills for BC, and trailed only Yeomans in digs with 18.

BC looks to rebound Saturday afternoon, October 13th at 1 p.m. as they visit the Newberry Wolves.
