Brevard, N.C- Lincoln Memorial’s Kalasia Green hit the game-winning three-pointer with 3.4 seconds remaining in regulation to push the Railsplitters past the Tornados 46-45 in Boshamer Gymnasium on Wednesday night.
LMU outscored the Tornados 21-8 over the final 10:06 of regulation to earn a split of the season series after the Tornados rallied for an overtime win in Tex Turner Arena on January 16th. Green finished with a team-high 12 points as nine different Railsplitters found their way into the scoring column.
It was Brevard who rallied back from a three-point halftime deficit, opening the second half on a 20-5 run to take a 12-point lead before the Railsplitters mounted their comeback.
While the Tornados held LMU to a 31.5 shooting percentage (17-of-54) in the game, BC shot only 27.9% (17-for-61) from the field in the defensive-minded matchup.
BC senior Micheala Watkins led all scorers with 17 points in 33 minutes off the bench for the Tornados, while Tuccoa Brackett had a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
The Tornados will look to rebound on the road as they visit the Lenoir-Rhyne Bears in Hickory on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. The Bears took the first game 77-49 in Boshamher Gymnasium on January 12th.
The Railsplitters will visit Anderson University, who handed LMU a 70-56 loss in Harrogate on January 12th.
