Women's Relay Sets New School Record

Spartanburg, S.C.- The women’s distance medley relay team of Hannah Cook, Casey McDowell, Ashley Lowe and Angela Canale set a new Brevard College record as the Tornados competed in the Wofford Terrier Relays on Saturday.

The women’s distance medley relay team finished the event in 13:55.82 to break the previous record of 13:58.27, set in 2004. Cook opened the relay with the 1200 meter, while McDowell and Lowe ran the middle distances of 400 and 800 meters, respectively. Canale anchored the relay with the 1600 meter leg.

On the men’s side, Josh Mower finished 2nd in his first-ever steeplechase. The junior finished the 3000 meter event in 10:28.67, behind only Philip Cook of Limestone.

Jordan Tager was another top performer for the Tornados, finishing the men’s 5000 meter run in 4th with a time of 16:31.92.

Brevard is back in action this Saturday at the Furman Invitational.
