Brevard Tops Mars Hill

Brevard, N.C.- The Brevard women’s tennis team defeated the Mars Hill College Lions 5-2 in a South Atlantic Conference match Wednesday afternoon at the Hart Tennis Center.

BC won both doubles matches that were contested as Michelle Prata and Claire Dillman dropped MHC’s Tatiana Dualiby and Marian Pinate 8-3 on the first doubles court, while Katie Ouellette and Elise Labus came through with an 8-3 win over Anna Rickenbaker and Natalie Hilbig on the second doubles court.

Michelle Prata took a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Rickenbaker on the second doubles court, and Labus and Nirvana Silva also earned singles victories for BC. Labus worked a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Hilbig on singles court four while Nirvana Silva defeated Aly Jones 6-2, 6-2 on the fifth singles court.

Brevard improves to 4-13 overall and 2-6 in South Atlantic Conference matches.

The Tornados will close out the regular season as they host Carson-Newman at the McCoy Tennis Complex for Senior Day.
