BC Men's Golf Earns All-Academic Team Recognition

Norman, Okla.- The Brevard College men’s golf team has been recognized by the Golf Coaches Association of America as an All-Academic Team following the 2012-2013 academic year.

The Tornados were one of only 18 Division II golf programs in the country that submitted grade point averages of 3.0 or higher to earn All-Academic Team recognition.

"I'm very proud of our team effort to succeed in the classroom this year," head coach David Nelson said. "The team set high standards for academic success at our first team meeting, and I couldn't be more pleased with the outcome".

To be eligible for GCAA All-Academic Team honors, a college or university must submit the grade point averages (GPA) for each player on its official squad list for the academic year.

Sophomore Kim Koivu led BC with a 3.8 GPA, while Diego Ortiz, Hunter Eddins, Petter Lehmann and Sean Stamper each earned above a 3.5 GPA.
