Baseball adds three in early signing period
Case, Renegar and Yarborough sign on with the Tornados
Brevard, N.C. - The Brevard College baseball team received commitments from Eric Renegar, Hunter Yarborough and Stephen Joshua Case during the early signing period this past week.
Renegar (Stuart, Va.), a middle infielder, comes to the Tornados from Patrick County High School where he played under head coach Terry Harris. Renegar, who also lettered in golf and basketball, set the new Patrick County High School season batting average record by hitting .547 in his junior season, breaking the record of his older brother and former Brevard baseball player, Kirk Renegar.
Academically, Renegar is in the Beta Club and is ranked eighth in his class with a 4.10 GPA.
Yarborough (Gastonia, N.C.) is an infielder from Ashbrook High School where he played under head coach Guy Spader. Yarborough is a two-sport athlete for the Green Wave, lettering two year in football as well as playing baseball. He was listed in the USSSA Greatest Players Book and had the highest batting average on the team in his freshman year.
Yarborough is the Honor Society President at Ashbrook as well as being on the National Honor Roll, in the Beta Club and a member of Civitans.
Case (Charlotte, N.C.) comes to the team from Ardrey Kell High School where he is a corner infielder and pitcher under head coach Hal Bagwell.
The Brevard baseball team finished 10-38 in 2008 as NCAA Division II and South Atlantic Conference provisional members.
