Tornados Sweep in Day Two of Spring TennisFest

HILTON HEAD, S.C.- The Brevard College men’s tennis team found success over Misericordia University in their second day of play winning the match 9-0 at the Spring TennisFest.

David Taggart and Rory Northam started the match as the top duo against opponents Tony Goodall and Robert Knipper winning 8-0 while teammates George Finch and Nathan Sabate continued the 8-0 run against Corey Dulsky and Christian Pugliese.

Vinicius Fernandes and Guilherme Prophirio ended doubles against the Cougars Nick Hendry and Eric Correll winning the set 8-5.

Brevard didn’t allow the Cougars to have more than one point during their singles sets, including two Tornados who held their opponents to zero while leading with six. Nathan Sabate served up a 6-0 win in each set against Christian Pugliese along with teammate George Finch in the No.6 singles spot against Nick Hendry.

The men’s tennis team will compete against Wilkes University during their third day of competition in Hilton Head at 4:00 p.m.
