Mount Olive Holds-Off BrevardMarch 19, 2014
MOUNT OLIVE, N.C.- The Brevard College (0-6, 0-2 SAC) women’s lacrosse team traveled to play at the University of Mount Olive (6-2) losing 19-0 in the non-conference challenge at Amon Field on March 19.
The Trojans didn’t waste time putting the ball in the back of the net putting them ahead 1-0 with a goal from Alysha Kulka at the 29:17 mark of the first half.
Brevard wasn’t able control the ball in their attack end until the last 33 seconds of the first half. Jamila Brown received the ball off the draw to pass it up field to Angela Canale. Canale took the opportunity to take a shot on goal but was unable to slide it past the goalkeeper.
The Tornados attempted to slow down the Trojan’s play after going into the second half down 14-0 and held Mount Olive to five goals during the last half.
Emily Medvedeff, Megyn Terrell and Julia Gasston all took shot opportunities to the goal but were unable to post a point for the Tornados. Goalkeeper Brianna Bangle finished the game with 19 saves off of 38 shots.
The Brevard College women will travel to Newberry on Saturday, March 22 for a South Atlantic Conference game.
