Prata Wins 100th Match

BREVARD, N.C.- Brevard College senior Michelle Prata earned her 100th career match win while playing South Atlantic Conference foeTusculum College on Sunday afternoon.

The Chapel Hill native played Pioneers Erin Mills in the No.2 spot, resulting in extra sets to determine a winner. Prata lost the first set 6-4 against Mills but quickly came back in the second set at a 6-4 advantage. Prata finished the match in the extra set, winning 6-3 for the milestone victory.

Prata has gone 9-5 overall and 4-4 in conference so far this season.  She was also named as part of the Preseason All- SAC Second Team after capturing the second most wins in singles play for BC in the 2013 season. Prata and doubles partner Claire Dillman were named as First Team All-SAC in doubles after the 2013 season.

Prata is the lone senior on the women’s tennis teams, and will be recognized before the match against Coker College on Saturday.
