BC Loses Last Inaugural Season GameApril 12, 2014
BREVARD, N.C.- The Brevard College (3-10, 1-6 SAC) men’s lacrosse team lost 19-5 while hosting Queens University of Charlotte (9-4, 6-1 SAC) in their final game of the season at the Tornados Lacrosse Field on Saturday, April 12.
BC came back from a quick four goal deficit until Robert Thornley placed in a goal at the 9:33 mark of the first quarter. Alsharif Blackman followed suit and the led the Tornados in total points for the game after placing in two back-to-back top pocket shots in the first quarter. Thornley finished the quarter with another goal to put the Tornados within reach at 5-4 going into the second.
The Royals were able to hold Brevard scoreless during the second and quarter while continuing on a nine goal run until Blair Alexandersen received a pass from Blackman for a goal at the 13:10 mark of the fourth quarter.
Andrew Reilly finished the game with 12 saves while also finishing the season at the top of the leader board for total saves in the South Atlantic Conference. Teammate, Alsharif Blackman finished his season in the top 20 of the conference for total points.
The Brevard College men’s lacrosse team concluded their inaugural season in 7th place for SAC out of eight with one major conference 10-9 win over Tusculum College on March 15.
