Josh Mower Named 2014 DII All-Region Honoree

NEW ORLEANS- The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced Josh Mower as an All-Region honoree for the 2014 Division II outdoor track & field season on Monday.

Mower, a senior from Ramseur, North Carolina, was awarded the honors after finishing the season ranked among the top five in the NCAA Southeast Region for the 3000m Steeplechase.

The top five individuals in each event from each region earned the All-Region distinction, in addition to each of the members of the regions’ top three relay teams. The regions used for this award match those used during the cross country season, and student-athletes must come from USTFCCA member institutions.

Josh finished his Brevard career with several cross country and track & field accomplishments. Earlier in the season, Mower placed 5th at the Charlotte 49er Classic with a time of 9:29.82, which was the 10th fastest in NCAA Division II as of March 23, 2014. He was also selected to the 2012 Preseason All-SAC Cross Country First-Team.

The USTFCCA men’s awards went to 646 different student-athletes, who combined for 905 total awards.
