Men's Lacrosse gives back to West Asheville Community

BREVARD, N.C. – The Brevard College men’s lacrosse team spent Saturday, September 6 giving a helping hand to the surrounding community, volunteering with the Habitat for Humanity.

The team helped complete a neighborhood project for the last two homes in Swannanoa for sod installation and laid out all of the sod, nearing about 10 pallets over the course of the day.

“It was a great to continue our program’s relationship with Habitat for Humanity,” said head coach Kevin Anderson. “It is important for our team to give back to the community of Western North Carolina which  already gives us so much.”

The entire men’s lacrosse team pitched in during this project to give them an opportunity to see the importance of giving back to a community. The team will look to work similar projects with Habitat for Humanity in the West Asheville area later this semester.

Anderson continued to say, “Habitat for Humanity is a special organization that directly gives back to the community, so it’s great that we were given this opportunity. We look forward to working with them again soon”.

The Habitat for Humanity’s vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to live. Their mission is to put God’s love into action by bringing people together to build homes, communities, and hope.  For more information about Habitat for Humanity click here.
