Tornados picked eighth in preseason poll

ROCK HILL, S.C.- The Brevard College men’s lacrosse team was picked eighth in the South Atlantic Conference (SAC) preseason poll, released today by the league.

The Tornados finished with 25 points, nine ahead of ninth place Lincoln Memorial and three behind seventh place Tusculum. Last year the Tornados finished with a 3-10 overall record and 1-6 in conference play during their inaugural season. They look to improve this year with a 15 game schedule, eight of which are against conference opponents.

Queens was picked to win the conference with eight first-place votes and 72 points while Lenoir-Rhyne was eight points behind in second. Mars Hill, Wingate, and Coker round out the top five, while Catawba finished four points behind Coker with 42 points.

Brevard begins its season on the road against Shorter on February 10 before returning home for three straight contests, starting against Emmanuel. The Tornados begin conference play at Wingate on February 28.
