Williams named second team all-conference

ROCK HILL, S.C. – Katie Williams has been selected to the all-South Atlantic Conference second team as voted on by the league’s coaches.

Williams led Brevard in scoring with 16.8 points per game, three point field goals made, three point percentage, free throws made, and free throw percentage (minimum of 50 made). She set the single-game record Brevard NCAA era record (2008-09 season-Present) with 35 points against Lenoir-Rhyne on January 31.

The Robbinsville, North Carolina native set three single-season records for the Tornados with 50 three point field goals made, a 42.4 percent clip from three point range and also shot 86.7 percent from the charity strip.

The junior guard led Brevard had double-figure scoring in 16 of the 22 games she played in, including 11 straight with 15 points or more between January 3 and February 7. She also had seven 20-plus point games, which led the team this year.

Williams also averaged 3.9 rebounds per game, 2.0 assists per game and 1.0 steals per game while shooting 42.4 percent from the floor. She finished the regular season fourth in the conference in points per game and three point percentage. She finished 23rd in the nation in three point percentage as well.
