Brevard falls to Wingate, 7-1, in second SAC matchMarch 11, 2015
WINGATE, N.C. – The Brevard College women’s tennis team fell to Wingate University, 7-1, on Wednesday afternoon during South Atlantic Conference (SAC) play. The Tornados fall to 1-5 overall and 0-2 in the SAC while the Bulldogs improve to 5-4 and 4-0 in conference.
Katie Daugherty won the only match for Brevard at No. 1 singles, defeating Andrea Ternera 6-3, 1-6, 1-0 (10-6). Jule Hermann fell at No. 2 singles to Caroline Holland 7-5, 3-5, but the match was unfinished while Nirvana Silva lost at No. 3 singles 6-0, 6-0.
Camile Cameron lost at No. 4 singles 6-0, 6-0 while Brevard forfeited both at No. 5 and No. 6 singles.
In doubles action Daugherty and Hermann fell at No. 1 doubles 8-6 to the team of Becca Thomas and Ternera while Cameron and Silva fell at No. 2 doubles 8-0. The Tornados forfeited at No. 3 doubles.
