Cobras defeat Tornados in South Atlantic Conference playMarch 21, 2015
HARTSEVILLE, S.C. – The Brevard College women’s tennis team fell to South Atlantic Conference (SAC) opponent Coker, 7-2, on Saturday afternoon.
Katie Daugherty picked up a 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 win over Bailey Palmer in the top singles slot while she and Jule Hermann picked up a doubles victory by a score of 8-4 in the top doubles spot.
Hermann fell 6-3, 6-2 to Jennifer Mezei at No. 2 singles while Nirvanna Silva lost to Sarah Elliot, 8-2, in the fourth singles spot. Lisa Pettig dropped a close match in the third singles slot. She won the first set, 6-2, before dropping the next two sets by scores of 6-4 and 6-2.
Ragan Palmer defeated Camille Cameron in the fifth singles slot, 6-2, 6-1, while Anita Maryskova fell at No. 6 singles, 8-5.
Bailey and Ragan Palmer defeated Silva and Cameron in the second doubles slot by a score of 8-1 while Campos and Suzanna Mickey dropped Pettig and Maryskova in the third doubles match, 8-3.
The Tornados return to action on Monday when they host Lincoln Memorial with matches set to begin at 2 p.m.
