Tornados drop contest to No. 28 Queens during SAC playMarch 28, 2015
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Brevard College women’s tennis team fell to No. 28 Queens, 8-1, on Saturday afternoon during South Atlantic Conference (SAC) action. The Tornados fall to 1-12 overall and 0-8 in the conference. The Royals, who are ranked 28th nationally and fifth in the region, improve to 8-1 and 3-1.
Jule Hermann picked up her fourth win of the season in the second singles slot by defeating Melissa Laing, 9-7. Katie Daugherty dropped the top singles match to Carlotta Nassi, 8-4, while Lisa Pettig fell at No. 3 singles 6-2, 6-1.
Nirvanna Silva lost, 8-0, in the fourth singles slot while Camille Cameron fell to Jackie Rock 6-3, 6-3 in the fifth slot. The Tornados forfeited the sixth singles match.
The team of Daugherty ad Hermann lost in the top doubles match, 8-6, to Laing and Nassi while Pettig and Silva lost, 8-1, in the second doubles match. The Tornados had to forfeit the third doubles match.
The Tornados return to action tomorrow as they host Davidson at 1 p.m.
