Davidson bests Tornados in a non-conference tiltMarch 29, 2015
BREVARD, N.C. – The Brevard College women’s tennis team fell to non-conference foe, Davidson College of the Atlantic 10 Conference, 9-0, on Sunday afternoon. The Tornados fall to 1-12 overall while Davidson improves to 11-6 on the year.
Katie Daugherty was defeated in the top singles slot 6-4, 6-1 to Elaina Cummer while Jule Hermann fell 6-2, 6-4 at No. 2 singles to Anna C. Feaster.
Ava Todd defeated Lisa Pettig 6-0, 6-2 in the third singles slot while Nirvanna Silva lost at No. 4 singles 6-1, 6-1 to Jenna Brunner.
Ally Sexton beat Camille Cameron 6-1, 6-0 at No. 5 singles while Anita Maryskova fell 6-2, 6-3 in the sixth singles match.
Daugherty and Hermann were defeated by Cummer and Brunner in the top doubles match 8-4 while Silva and Pettig lost to Feaster and Sexton, 8-2, in the second doubles match. Blake Nickles and Todd swept the team of Cameron and Maryskova in the third doubles match.
The Tornados return to action on Tuesday, April 7 against Lenoir-Rhyne at home. The match is scheduled for 2 p.m. and is a make-up contest from March 25.
