Two golfers compete at Agnes McAmis Memorial

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. – Brevard’s Kelsey Rhyne and ZeAijah Mooney competed as individuals in first-round action at the Agnes McAmis Memorial on Monday afternoon.

Rhyne finished her day in 90 strokes, 18 over par and 18 off the pace set by Wingate’s Caitlin Starrs. Mooney was 29 strokes back of Starrs but provided a highlight as her round included a birdie.

Starrs shot an even-par 72 and holds a two-stroke lead over King’s Elizabeth Swallow. A group of three additional golfers sits four strokes back. King leads the team competition at 23 over, seven shots ahead of Carson-Newman and nine in front of third-place Lander.

Tournament play concludes with 18 holes on Tuesday.
