Rhyne finishes 66th at Agnes McAmis Memorial

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. – Brevard dual-sport athlete Kelsie Rhyne came away with a 66th-place finish at the Agnes McAmis Memorial hosted by Tusculum College on Tuesday.

Rhyne, who played a key role off the bench on the Tornados’ women’s basketball team this season, shot a final-round 85 on Tuesday. Rhyne improved upon her first round score by five strokes and finished the tournament 31 strokes over par. Teammate ZeAijah Mooney withdrew from final round action after entering the day in 93rd place.

Lander won the tournament with a team score of 51 strokes over par, finishing six strokes clear of second-place King University. The Bearcats’ Mariana Martins was declared the individual champion after winning a scorecard playoff with Wingate’s Caitlin Starrs.

The Tornados’ next competition will take place April 12-14 at the South Atlantic Conference Championship in Sevierville, Tennessee.
