Brevard competes at the Wofford Terrier Relay's in SpartanburgApril 4, 2015
SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Brevard College track & field teams competed at the Wofford Terrier Relays at Wofford College on Saturday afternoon. The field consisted of schools from the South Atlantic Conference along with other Division II opponents and some Division I foes.
Micah Voelzow, a sophomore from Charlotte, North Carolina, competed in the javelin throw and had a toss of 22.98 meters.
Hannah Cook finished the 1500 meter run in 23rd place in 5:21.20, ten seconds ahead of senior Heidi Kaartinen and 19 seconds ahead of Madison Smith. Halana Gittens finished 27th in the 200 meter dash with a time of 27.61.
Leah Jostes and Elena Raygoza finished right behind each other in the 3000 meter steeplechase. The team of Ashley Lowe, Cook, Kaartinen, and Smith finished third in the distance medley.
Anne Miller competed in the discus and javelin throw along with the shot put event. She threw the discus 24.33 meters, the javelin 29.94 meters, and the shot put 8.11 meters. Teammate Savannah Cox threw the javelin 26.79 meters while Mary Clement finished 44th in the javelin throw.

The Tornados will compete at the Western Carolina Invitational in Cullowhee, North Carolina on Saturday April 11 before the South Atlantic Conference Championships in Hickory, North Carolina from April 18-19.
