Baseball youth camp to be held August 3-6

BREVARD, N.C. – Brevard assistant baseball coach Sean Walsh will host a summer youth baseball camp beginning Monday, June 29 at the City of Brevard Sports Complex on Ecusta Road.

The camp is for aspiring baseball players ages 6-12 and runs from Monday, August 3 through Thursday, August 6 from 9:00 a.m. to noon each day. Walsh and other coaches will instruct campers on defense, pitching and catching, hitting, and baserunning.

Campers and their parents are asked to pre-register by Friday, July 31 by mailing in a form available on the camp brochure. The cost for the week of instruction is $100, half of which should be submitted by check along with the pre-registration form.

Walsh has served as an assistant coach for Brevard for five seasons as the team’s hitting and infield coach. Walsh was an integral part of Brevard’s stellar offensive season in 2012 that saw the Tornados finish 12th nationally with a .328 team batting average and sixth with a .407 on-base percentage. He played at North Carolina State University and was drafted in the 47th round of the 2001 MLB Draft, playing as high as Double-A in his professional career.
