Warren Wilson cancels Fighting Owls Invitational

BREVARD, N.C. – The ongoing rain hitting North Carolina has forced another schedule change for Brevard College athletics, as the Fighting Owls Invitational, hosted by Warren Wilson, has been canceled.

Cross country is coming off of one of its most successful outings since joining the NCAA in 2008, as both the men and women finished first overall at the Twilight Invitational. Hannah Cook ran a sub 20 5K in the women’s race en route to a first place result while Hassan Kiprono, Sidney Noble and Jordan Lance finishing in the top five on the men’s side with Brent Turner crossing the finish line first as an unattached runner.

The Fighting Owls Invitational was the penultimate meet on the docket as the teams now set their eyes on the South Atlantic Conference Championship, hosted by Lincoln Memorial on Oct. 24.
