HILTON HEAD, S.C. – Brevard College’s women’s tennis team continued its spring break schedule on Wednesday morning against the University of Missouri – St. Louis, losing 9-0. With the result, the Tornados drop to 1-6 overall.
The University of Missouri – St. Louis (5-1) raced to a 2-0 lead over Brevard with 8-0 victories in doubles play over Sam Miranda and Rachael Stanford on court two and Kristen Rathbun and Katie Hatter at the third position. Nirvanna Silva and Anita Maryskova, pairing up at the top slot, took on Salome Blevlek and Patricia Maya from the Tritons, falling 8-2 to wrap up doubles play.
Maryskova had the best Tornados’ outing in singles play, falling 7-5 in the first set against Blevlek before dropping the second one 6-1. Silva was also able to take a game from her Tritons foe, but lost 6-1, 6-0 at the top singles position. Miranda, Stanford, Hatter and Claire Dysart all took the courts in singles play, losing 6-0, 6-0.
The Tornados are back in action tomorrow, Mar. 3, when they take on St. John Fisher in Hilton Head, S.C.
