Tornados end season with home match against CokerApril 10, 2016
BREVARD, N.C. – Brevard College’s women’s tennis team concluded the 2016 season on Sunday afternoon with a home match against Coker, losing to the visiting Cobras 9-0. Brevard finishes the season 2-17 overall and 0-11 in South Atlantic Conference play.
In doubles action, Anita Maryskova and Nirvanna Silva paired up at the top doubles slot for one final time, losing 8-4 to Jennifer Mezei and Bailey Palmer of Coker (7-11, 6-5 SAC). Rachael Stanford and Katie Hatter teamed up at the second position while Kristen Rathbun and Claire Dysart at the third spot, both losing 8-0.
Maryskova had the best outing of a Tornado in singles play, dropping her opening set 6-3 and the sequel 6-1 at the top flight. Silva was also able to win games in both sets of her match, played at the second position, in a 6-1, 6-2 loss. Stanford, Hatter and Dysart played on courts three through five, all ending 6-0, 6-0 while Natalie Green made her first appearance of the fall at sixth position in a 6-0, 6-0 result.
