North Greenville Edges out Brevard 2-1September 27, 2016

BREVARD, N.C.- The Brevard College Tornados Women’s Soccer team (5-5, 0-4 SAC) lost in a non-conference game by a score of 2-1 to North Greenville University (2-6-0) on Tuesday afternoon in Brevard N.C.
The Crusaders would get out to an early lead, scoring in the first minute of the match as Rylee Marks would score off a deflection sending the ball over the head of the Tornados goal keeper.
The Tornados would snap a two-game scoreless drought, as Sophomore Ashley Hughes (Charlotte, N.C.) launched a ball from thirty yards over the head of the North Greenville goal keeper.
It would not take long for the Crusaders to answer back as Asheton Robinson connected at fifteen yards back to the upper-left hand corner of the goal in the 66th minute of the game.
Offensively, Brevard would out shoot North Greenville 22-15. Sophomore, Hunter Denny (Pisgah Forest, N.C.) would end the day with three shots on goal. Ashley Mevoli (St. Petersburg, Fla), Anita Maryskova (Liberec, Czech Republic), and Caroline David (Charlotte, N.C.) would each finish the day with three shot attempts.
Sophomore, goal keeper, Elise Youmans (West Hartford, Conn.), would finish the day with six saves while allowing an early goal in the first period and another goal in the second half of competition.
Brevard will look to earn their first conference win as they travel to Catawba Saturday, October 1 beginning at 5 p.m.
