Tornados finish in top ten of Asheville Cross Country ChallengeOctober 2, 2016

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Senior Brent Turner (West Monroe, La.), led the Brevard Men's Cross Country team to a 9th place finish at the Asheville Cross Country Challenge this past Saturday. Turner finished the 8000-meter race with a time of 27:13.55, finishing in 27th place overall.
Paddy Grandinali won the challenge with an overall time of 25:13.69, as he competed as an unattached runner. David Jones, of Mars Hill University would come in ssecond with a time of 25:28.92.
Mars Hill University would win the challenge, as they finished the day with 55 points and a total time of 2:12:27.69. Following up Mars Hill, would be Radford University (59), High Point University (111), and rounding out the top five, Western Carolina (113).
Hassan Kiprano (Iten, Kenya) would turn in Brevard's second best time of the day, as Kiprano finished the day with an overall time of 27:26.79 in 37th place overall. Rounding out Brevard's top five team totals were Jordan Lance (Panama City Beach, Fla.) with a time of 28:51.45, Michael Anton (Woodleaf N.C.) 29:06.12, and Micah Voelzow (Charlotte, N.C.) finishing with a time of 32:10.15.
The Tornados will be back in action next Saturday, Oct. 8, as they travel to Greeville, S.C. for the Gene Mullin Cross Country Invite.
