Women's golf wraps up fall seasonOctober 25, 2016
LAURINBURG, N.C. – The Brevard Women’s golf team wrapped up their 2016 fall season with the final round of the St. Andrews Fall Invitational on Tuesday afternoon at Scotch Meadows Country Club.
The Tornados competed as individuals in the invite. Courtney Sharp (Jacksboro, Tenn.) led the Tornados as she finished the tournament with a total of 164 in a tie for 9th place. The freshman posted an 83 for day two of the tournament. Taylor Scovel (Charlotte, N.C.) finished in 17th place overall with a two-day total of 173. Kelsie Rhyne (Taylorsville, N.C.) finished day two of play with a 92, and a tournament total of 181.
University of the Cumberlands’ Rachel Pingleton won the Invite as she turned in a total of 153 for the two days. Her teammate Annabeth McKay and St. Andrews’ Paige Hartman finished in a tie for second place with scores of 154. Lydia Randell of St. Andrews University would finish closely behind in fourth place with an overall score of 155.
University of the Cumberlands would capture the team win with a total of 626 points. St. Andrews University turned in a second place scorecard with a two-day total of 659.
The St. Andrews Fall Invitational wrapped up the Tornados fall season. Brevard will be looking to build on the improvements made during the fall as they return to the course in spring 2017.
