Tornados fall in final non-conference matchOctober 25, 2016
ATLANTA, GA. – The Brevard Women’s Soccer team (3-12-1) lost 5-0 to Emory (9-5-0) in their final non-conference game of the season on Tuesday night.
Emory would get things going in the 29th minute of play as Shivani Beall would score off a rebound following a corner kick. Jordan Doak would score the Eagles second goal off an assist from Caroline Kolski, to give Emory the 2-0 lead at halftime. Beall would add another goal early in the second half as Cristina Ramirez would send a cross, for Beall to tap in from close range. Sophia Dillon and Kaitlyn Dorka would be credited with the Eagles final two goals of the night. As Dillon scored off a pass from Shivani Beall, and Dorka would receive a pass from Anna Gurney off a breakaway play to record the final goal of the night.
Emory out-shot Brevard 41-0, as the Eagles defense prevented the Tornados from getting a shot attempt off the entire 90 minutes of play. Sophia Dillon and Anna Gurney led Emory with seven shot attempts on the night. Shivani Beall finished with four shots on goals.
Tornados’ goal keeper Laurel Neuzil (Loudon, Tenn.) had another busy night in goal, as the freshman recorded ten saves for the match.
Brevard will play their final conference match this Saturday, October 29th at Queens University. The contest is set to begin at 1 pm.
