BREVARD, N.C. - In conjunction with the Admissions Department, the Brevard College football program hosted approximately 60 prospective student athletes and their families on campus this past weekend as part of Scholarship Day.
The purpose of this specific visitation day was to allow future students an opportunity to receive an extended campus tour, interact with current students, compete for scholarships, and ensure that they are the right fit for experiential learning that is the hallmark of Brevard College.
“Football is the consummate team sport, and the success we had this past weekend was in large part due to the combined efforts of the coaching staff and many of the players currently on the roster,” said Recruiting Coordinator, Dynomite Kuhn. “Some participants traveled over nine hours to be with us today. One high school filled an entire van and would have brought more prospective student-athletes but ran out of seats! The enthusiasm and work that went into preparing for this event is a testament to the belief we have in our head coach, Bill Khayat, and in his leadership,”
The concept of family and how it is emblematic of being a member of the Tornados football team was the theme of his message when Coach Khayat addressed the crowd inside Dunham Hall. He also broadened the analogy into a discussion of trust, compatibility, and commitment.
This was the last Scholarship Day of the spring semester, and the staff will now turn its attention to this week’s first spring football practice of the Bill Khayat era.
