Climbing to celebrate success at regionals

BREVARD, N.C. – After winning the USA Climbing - Appalachian Regionals, The Brevard College Climbing team will be hosting a meet and great to honor the team on a successful inaugural season.

The event will take place on Tuesday, April 11, from 6-8 p.m. at the Brevard Rock Gym where the team trained throughout the season. Attendees will be able to meet and congratulate the members of the team, and enjoy desserts and drinks. There will be free climbing for students who attend as well.

Last Saturday, the Brevard College Climbing team traveled to Chattanooga, Tenn. to participate in the USA Climbing – Appalachian Regional Championships, the team took home the top prize as well as individual accomplishments. Lauren Fowler (Elijay, Ga.) placed second at the Women’s Sport Climbing event. Jordan Haak (Longwood, Fla.) climbed his way to a third place finish in the Men’s Speed Climbing event.

The regional championships wrapped up an impressive first season for the climbing team, who saw much success throughout the season. The team encourages fans to come out and celebrate the inaugural season on Tuesday night.
