Limestone came back in the bottom of the inning against Tornados starter Jennifer Gift (7-9) as Kelsey Kuykendall hit a two-run home run, scoring Christina Woolgar from first to put the Lady Saints back up 2-1.
The Tornados came right back in the second as Becca Curlee led off with a base hit. An error by the Limestone third baseman on Maddie Fletcher’s grounder gave the Tornados runners on second and third with none out. Brevard loaded the bases as the Lady Saints infield held on to Sarah Carlos’ grounder to prevent Curlee from scoring from third, but it did not matter as back-to-back singles by Beth Brooker and Clayton drove home Curlee and Fletcher to give the lead back to Brevard.

The Lady Saints broke the game open in the third as Felicia Fritz, Woolgar, and Kelsey Kuykendall all came around to score to put Limestone up 6-3.
Limestone added four more runs in the fourth to give starter Emily Wallace a 10-3 lead with three innings to play.
Brevard continued to battle back, scoring a run in the sixth as Carlos, Brooker and Mallory loaded the bases and Katie Brown brought Carlos home by coaxing a walk out of relief pitcher Robertson, but Limestone scored two more in the bottom of the sixth to end game one in favor of the home team.

Brevard struck first once again in game one, scoring in the top of the first as Mallory connected on one of Madison Carpenter’s pitches for her second home run of the season.
The lone run would stand for one inning before the Tornados offense exploded for five in the second. Katie Brown and Curlee both walked to lead off the inning. The two runners advanced to second and third on Fletcher’s fly ball. Thornburg drove both in with a base hit. A single by Carlos and an error by the third baseman loaded the bases for Brevard and the Tornados offense capitalized as Clayton drove a fly ball to left field deep enough for both Katie Brown and Carlos and Thornburg to score. Kasey Fagan drove in the final run with a base hit.
