Cycling adds two to the roster

Weston and Rimmer sign on to ride for the Tornados in 2009-2010

Brevard, N.C. - The Brevard College Athletic Department and coach Thad Walker are proud to announce that Nate Weston and Robert Cory Rimmer have signed on to attend Brevard College and compete in cycling for the Tornados, beginning in the 2009-2010 seasons.

Weston, a Billings, Mont. native, comes in with a specialty in road racing. The 5-8 performer is a three-time Montana State Champion, having won the Time Trial in 2006, and the Road Race and Criterium in 2008. Weston’s home team is the Montana Junior Cycling Foundation & Team GAS/Insintrik.

Along with cycling, Weston is also on the golf team and wrestling team at Billings Skyview High School, and has been recognized on the state golf team for three years. In 2008, Weston was awarded the Skyview Golf Team Captain Award.

Academically, Weston has achieved the Presidential Award and the Student of the Year Award.

Cory Rimmer comes to the Tornadso from Friendsville, Tenn. by way of William Blount High School. The son of Bobby and Donna Rimmer, Cory rides under coach Andy Johson.

In addition to cycling, Rimmer is also on the cross country and track teams at William Blount.

The BC Cycling team is home to four national champions at the 2008 Collegiate Mountain Bike National Championships and is slated to send three riders to the 2009 Road National Championships held in Fort Collins, Colo. on May 13-19.
