BC Men's and Women's Track and Field Compete at Emory Asics ClassicApril 4, 2008
Atlanta, Ga. – Both the men’s and women’s track and field teams had a number of individuals compete this past weekend at the Emory Asics Classic hosted by Emory University in Atlanta, Ga.
On the women’s side, junior Alycia Andrade turned in a 12th-place performance in the 5000 meter run event, crossing the finish line with a time of 20:10.06 in the finals heat.
Teammate Hannah Beck crossed the line with a time of 25:37.85, which was good enough for the 30th overall.
Fellow sophomore Meghan Grimes competed in the women’s discus throw event, as she took 14th overall with a throw of 22.00 meters in the finals
On the men’s side, sophomore Stephen Dawson finished ninth in the 110 meter hurdles event, turning in a time of 16.45.
Also competing in the event was Vicini Harrison, Zach Hazen and Tiffen Tapia, as the distance runners finished 37th, 41st and 42nd, respectively in the 5000 meter run.
The Tornados will next compete at the Duke Invitational in Durham, N.C. hosted by Duke University on April 4 and 5.
