Joshua Davis finishes second in the Tornados first action of 2009
Brevard, N.C. - The Tornados men's golf team overcame a six-shot deficit in coming from behind to win the Montreat College Fall Invitational, played this past Monday and Tuesday at the Glen Cannon Country Club. Brevard carded a two-day total of 593 in coming back to defeat Union College for the tournament title.
Joshua Davis led the team, recording a two-day total of 144, even par in finishing second in the tournament. The sophomore from Old Fort, N.C. followed his first day 71, with a 73.
Thomas Rennie improved on his first day score, coming back with an even par 72 to record a 150 for the touranment and Parker Lewis matched Rennie stroke for stroke, carding a two-day total of 146.
Thomas Bush recorded a 153 for his two-day total, with Mike Jones nearly matching his personal-best score set on Monday with a 79 in the second round, finishing with a 157 score.
The Tornados will be back on the links on Tuesday, September 22nd, as they take on Benedict University at the Oak Hills Country Club in Columbia, S.C.
