Tornados capture first tournament title against Benedict

Klochkova receives medalist honors with low round 78

Columbia, S.C. - The Tornados women’s golf team continued their recent success yesterday at the Benedict Triangular yesterday as the team broke their scoring record again, making it three rounds in a row by shooting a 338 on the day in defeating Benedict College 338-488.

The win marks the first team tournament victory by the Tornados women’s golf program since their inception in 2008.

Alisiya Klochkova was the medalist, shooting a one-round 78, tying the BC single round record.

Lucy McNulty followed close behind with an 81, three strokes back from the lead.

Jennifer Brown and Katie Brown also improved on their past scores, shooting personal bests of 88 and 91 for the day, while Macy Kottyan followed right behind with a 98.

The Tornados women’s golf team is back in action on Monday, September 28, at the Tusculum Fall Invitational held at the Links Hills Country Club in Greeneville, Tenn.
