Belmont Abbey defeats Brevard 1-0
Belmont, N.C. - The Tornados fell to Belmont Abbey Friday night in a game that saw just three shots on goal.
The win moves to Abbey's record to 7-6-1, while Brevard slips to 1-14.
After an uneventful first half in which the Crusaders outshot the Tornados 2-0, Belmont Abbey sophomore midfielder James Lawrence Forbes scored the only goal at the 59:31 mark, firing home a rebound off of a blocked shot by Jack Reid.
The Crusaders held the Tornados to just one shot while they recorded eight, six coming in the second half. They also held a 12-1 advantage in corner kicks.
Brandon Alvarez and counterpart Jack Shaw both made one save in the net.
