Tornados finish exhibition season, fall to NC A&T 92-63
Roper has 14 points to lead team in the loss
Greensboro, N.C. - The Tornados men’s basketball team concluded their exhibition season Friday night against North Carolina A&T State University as Coach Jones’ squad took on their second NCAA Division I foe this season. Josh Roper led Brevard with 14 points, but the Aggies hit 15 three-pointers in pulling away with the win, 92-63.
Jonathan Whitson added 13 points in the game, going six of 14 from the floor and Sam Carlisle pulled down a game-high 15 rebounds and added three blocked shots to the table as the Tornados out-rebounded NC A&T 49-47.
Josh Jordan had another good game off the bench, contributing six points and seven rebounds in 19 minutes and Darin Dellinger added six points, four rebounds and two assists in the game.
North Carolina A&T had five players in double-figures, led by Nic Simpson with 21 points, going five of 10 from behind the arc, while Tavarus Alston added 20 points and five assists.
The Tornados begin the 2009-2010 regular season on Tuesday, November 17th, as Brevard makes the trip to Belmont, N.C. to take on the Belmont Abbey Crusaders. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
