TORNADOS COMPETE AT ALONZO CLARK INVITATIONAL

BC's Ledington wins 400 Meters, places 2nd in 200

Banner Elk, N.C. - The Brevard College Track and Field team competed at the Alonzo Clark Track and Field Invitational at Lees-McRae College in Banner Elk, N.C. Saturday March 13. 

Athletes from Limestone, Lenoir-Rhyne, Montreat, and Lees-McRae joined Brevard at the meet.

Ryane Ledington had a banner day for BC, winning the women’s 400 meter run in 1:01.24. She took second place in the 200 meter dash, with a time of 27.57. Limestone’s Anisha Barbee won the event in 26.41.

Lanie Converso placed fourth in the 800 Meter run, crossing the finish line in 2:37.87. Lenoir-Rhyne’s Tiffany Payne took first place in 2:31.80.

Danielle Meeser ran 3000 Meters in 13:37.24 to place fifth. L-R’s Katie Griewisch won the race in 10:36.23.

The Brevard women placed fourth in the team competition. Lees-McRae was first.

On the men’s side Josh Ross placed ninth in the 400 Meter Hurdles with a 1:08.68 finish. Lees-McRae’s Brad Tanis won the race in 56.33.

Brevard resumes its season Saturday March 27 at Western Carolina.
