Two camps will be held in Brevard in July

Brevard, N.C. - Brevard College head soccer coaches Juan Mascaro and Shigeyoshi Shinohara are pleased to announce the dates for the 2010 summer soccer camps.

The camps will be held on the campus of Brevard College on the Brevard College Soccer Field, located directly behind Boshamer Gymnasium.

Two camps will be offered, with the first being a Day Camp for boys and girls ages 8 to 14 years old. The Day Camp will start on Monday, July 12th, and will run until Thursday, July 15th, with an emphasis on teaching the techniques of soccer, while having fun playing. Campers will be taught passing, receiving, heading, dribbling, shooting and touching the ball as much as possible for the four-day camp.

The second camp offered is the Residential Team Camp for both male and female athletes, ages of 10 to 18. The camp will take place starting on Sunday, July 25th, and running until Wednesday, July 28th.

Players and coaches will meet in sessions twice a day with the sessions emphasizing ball controlling, passing, 1-on-1 attacking and defending, as well as group defending, group attacking and other tactical aspects of the game.

The residential camp is an overnight camp in which the players will stay in a dorm on Brevard College, with boys assigned on one floor and girls on another floor.
