Tornados will host nine games on the BC Soccer Field this season

Brevard, N.C. - Coach Shigeyoshi Shinohara has released the Brevard College 2010 Women’s Soccer schedule, as announced by the BC Sport Information Department.

The Tornados return a deep class of upperclassmen, including rising seniors Katie Donohue and Nikki Peacock, as well as nine rising juniors featuring co-captain Chelsea Freeman. Brevard will play an 18 game schedule this season. splitting the total with nine games on the road and nine games coming on the BC Soccer Field.

The Tornados finished the 2009 season with a 6-12-1 record in their second season as full members of the NCAA Division II and went 0-7-1 as members of the South Atlantic Conference, earning a berth in the 2009 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference tournament.

The Tornados open up the 2010 schedule on the road in a trio of preseason contests. Brevard opens with scrimmages coming against Montreat on August 21st and Milligan on August 23rd, before finishing preseason play with an exhibition in Swannanoa, N.C. against Warren Wilson College on August 28th.

Brevard begins the 2010 regular season on September 2nd, traveling to face off against Erskine College in Due West, S.C., before returning for the 2010 home opener against Belmont Abbey on September 5th.

The Tornados play three of their next four games at home as Brevard hosts Converse, USC Aiken and Southern Wesleyan, while traveling down to Morrow, Ga. to take on Peach Belt opponent Clayton State.

After a road game against Young Harris College, the Tornados return home to begin South Atlantic Conference play by hosting Lincoln Memorial on September 25th. Brevard takes on Tusculum College on the BC pitch on September 28th, before traveling for a pair of SAC games against Mars Hill and Lenoir-Rhyne.

The Tornados return home to face Wingate on October 9th, before traveling to Anderson, S.C. for their first game against new South Atlantic Conference member Anderson University.

A road contest against Lees-McRae preludes the Tornados final two home games of the 2010 regular season as Brevard hosts Carson-Newman on October 20th, before hosting Senior Day on October 23rd against Newberry College.

Brevard wraps up the season on the road with a pair of contests against North Georgia College and State and Catawba.
