Brevard, N.C. – The renovations to Boshamer Gymnasium, the home to the Brevard College women’s volleyball and men’s and women’s basketball teams is complete. The Brevard College Athletics Department would like to give a very special thanks to the Tornado Club and to all of its members, as the booster club funded the changes and renovations that occurred all summer long.
The transformations begin on Monday, June 2, as the old wooden bleachers were taken out of the gym, removed and recycled.
On Friday, June 20, the second phase of the renovations to Boshamer Gymnasium on the campus of Brevard College was completed, as fresh new paint was put up on the interior walls of the venue. The gym now is bright with fresh white walls and blue paint surrounding the newly installed blue bleachers.
Just this past week, phase three of the renovation project was completed as new shot clock equipment and a new three-point line to meet with the new rules for the NCAA Division II men’s basketball legislation were put into place.
The installation of the new chair back seats with steps and hand rails as well as brand new state of the art bleachers not only bring a new aesthetic beauty to the gymnasium but also will give all BC fans, students and spectators’ safe and comfortable seating while they enjoy Tornado athletic events.
The first home event in the newly renovated Boshamer Gymnasium will take place this Friday night, September 5, when the Brevard College women’s volleyball team will play host to Coker College in game one of the weekend BC Tournament. The match is slated for a 7 p.m. start time.
