Hickory, N.C. - Ryane Ledington placed second in the women’s 400 meters (1:00.82) and Matt Crowe ran third in the men’s 5000 meters (16:11.72) for the Brevard College Track and Field team at the 2010 Lenoir-Rhyne PowerSox Invitational held on Saturday, April 10th, in Hickory, N.C.
Daniel Modahl threw the javelin 41.8 meters to finish in seventh in the event. The distance in the javelin was a personal best for Modahl. He also competed in the 400-Meter Hurdles, receiving another top ten finish by coming in fourth in the field with a time of 58.83.
Matt Lambert competed in two races for the Tornados, running in the 800 and the 1500 meter events. Lambert finished 13th overall in the 800 meters with a time of 2:04.21 and set a personal best in the 1500 meters finishing in 4:10.19 for a sixth place result.
Ledington's time in the 400 meters was also a personal best, and she came back in the 200 meters to finishing fourth after a time of 26.39.
Willie Jones recorded a pair of top ten finishes in his two events, crossing the line in the 400 meters in 51.68 to finish sixth, while finishing 10th in the 800 meters in 2:03.70.
Shaton Pratt ran the 100 meters in 11.45 to finish the event just outside the top ten, but he responded with a time of 22.72 in the 200 meters to take sixth place overall.
Chirstie Converso, Chynna Shipp and Hannah Beck all ran in the women's 800 meters, with Converso leading the way with a time of 2:33.79 to finish sixth overall. Shipp finished the event in 2:48.77 to finish in 18th, while Beck had a personal season best in the event, finishing in 3:05.05.
The Tornados return to competition on Friday, April 23rd, at the Southeast Regional meet held at Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory, N.C.
